movie night
Our first-ever movie night!
Movies are better when enjoyed together, so we decided to host a special movie night in Hood River! With so many ocean and foiling enthusiasts in town, it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate our love for foiling, art, and the sea. Thanks to our amazing hosts at Ferment Brewing and the support of some incredible sponsors, we showcased four handpicked films that brought just the right mix of storytelling and stoke to the evening.

We started off with Unbounded, a surf foil film about Zane Westwood’s journey through Chile as he explores the diverse forms of surfing, with a focus on the speed, power, and flow that foiling in Chile's waters brings. Documented by his friend and fellow foiler Dane Wilson, Unbounded is a visual celebration of the limitless possibilities that await those who dare to ride alternative surf crafts.
Next we showed a very unique piece from near home, described as “obscure aquatic interests.” by director Tate Larrick with Surfing + Original Score by Donnie Hedden.
Mixing it up on behalf of the water sport and foiling enthusiast crowd, we showed an amazing piece by fellow sailor and photographer friend Simone Staff, and co director Nick Paskhover, about multi media sculptor, Richard Wilks.
We finished with a foiling classic, Blue Highway: A Hydrofoil Adventure, a short film by Foil Drive capturing the beauty of the Kaiwi Channel, Hawaii, directed by Matt Leong. These guys are super awesome, and we were stoked to do a little Q & A post-viewing with foilers Paul Cooper and Josh Ku!
